The child genius

Saria is Link's childhood friend and mentor. She is regarded among the other kokiri as the unofficial leader, and has always been a favorite of the Great Deku Tree. Even though she didn't actually know his origins, Saria always knew Link was special, and grew very attached to him through her intrigue. She gave Link his very first ocarina, and with it taught him how to play, as well as how to navigate the Lost Woods, where she would often go to get away from her problems (or to ditch Mido). Since kokiri live as eternal children, no one actually knows exactly how old Saria is. However, she has an intellect to match Zelda's and a wit that can go toe-to-toe with Ganondorf.

As of yet, Saria has only appeared in The Ocarina of Time, but her one appearance was an important one. After Link left her at Kokiri Bridge, he returned seven years later to awaken her as the Sage of the Forest. Saria in turn played an important role in the defeat of Ganondorf, lending her power to Link whenever she was able and working together with the other sages to seal the villain away in the Sacred Realm. And if that seal breaks, she's not taking responsibility for it, either; she knew what she was doing, but Ruto was probably checking out Link's ass.

Saria, while normally quiet and reserved, can also be impatient and crude. The downside of immense intellect is, of course, being painfully aware of the fact that few others have it as well. Because of this, Saria views the world as full of morons, and feels it's her duty to either educate the ignorant masses.... or completely own the REALLY stupid ones

Checking out your ass eh?

What? I have a fine ass.

I'll refrain from my comments...for now.
